About
the iScan Procedure
The iScan procedure scans 100% of the retinal area recommended by the NIH protocols. It images seven specific areas of each eye (see image below) in 3D to help your physician find diabetic changes early and provide timely, vision-saving care. After checking your vision and dilating your eyes, the iScan technician will image different parts of each eye. These images are sent for specialized analysis, and a report is sent back to your doctor the next day. Nearly all health insurance plans cover this service and deem it an important part of your long-term diabetes care plan. |
